When opened in 1949, Morehead was the first planetarium on a college campus anywhere in the world and only the sixth planetarium in the United States. Today, Morehead is the largest planetarium in the Southeast with full-dome digital video, and the largest planetarium on a college campus anywhere in the world with such cutting-edge technology.

Habitat for Humanity of Durham, in partnership with its team of dedicated volunteers, transforms lives and communities through making homeownership a possibility for many. Since 1985, Habitat of Durham has broken ground on over 235 homes in Durham and over 65 homes with its sister affiliate in Honduras. Habitat builds not only homes, but also hope in communities. The Habitat family is always looking for new, dedicated individuals to volunteer, donate, and advocate with Habitat - all with the goal of eliminating poverty locally and around the world.

The Carolina Covenant is UNC-Chapel Hills promise to youth from low-income families that if they are admitted to Carolina and are eligible that they can then graduate with a baccalaureate degree debt-free. The Covenant makes it clear that students from all economic backgrounds are welcome at Carolina. It is a relief to these students that they do not have to worry about financing their education - they can count on the help of the Carolina Covenant and its private donors. However, the Covenant is much more than a financial aid program - It includes Carolinas commitment to supporting the success of Covenant Scholars, from start to finish in all aspects of life, not just academically.

miraclefeetTM is dedicated to providing proper treatment for children born with clubfoot in developing countries. Founded by a UNC/Morehead scholar, they partner with local orthopedic surgeons working in public hospitals to establish and support clubfoot clinics within the existing public health system. miraclefeetTM believes this is the most effective, efficient and sustainable approach to prevent the significant disability caused by untreated clubfoot around the world.
